A Night of Terror
Something evil this way comes
Glowing eyes and toothy gums
Vile stench like that of death
Flows aloft on every breath
Blackened shadow in the night
Only shows itself for fright
Sinister in every way
Makes people hide and people pray
Terror fills the coldest heart
Breaking rational apart
In the corner cowering
From what this unknown thing might bring
I close my eyes with hands on face
My pulse is twice its normal pace
I wait to find what next may come
Then wake to find it all undone
With open eyes and sunshines beam
I see that it was all a dream
But still I fear what's next to come
When night is here and day is done
