A New Friend:Anniversary Gift Poem
So, this is a poem I wrote to accompany a gift I got my wife for our first anniversary on Halloween, 2018. I got her a teddy bear similar to one I had given her nearly a decade ago, that has long since been misplaced, and that she loved very dearly.
You miss old friends
And I am not
I cannot fill
That broken spot
Inside your heart
Where they reside
Although I hope
You'll let me try
For I've been loved
And cared for too
And now I've made
My way to you
Although I'm not
The friend you've known
I'd love some memories
Of our own
