A Never Ending
As the dust dissipates the battle cries will still be heard
while the scars remain covered the memories still plague
no war is forgotten, time does not erased the loss
nor does the wounded heal from time alone.
Suddenly awoken by the stirs of sights or sounds
fear scrapes the silence from the night sleep
to be brought back to the grounds where men had fallen
feeling that they had never left where the embers still burn.
