A Need To Be Cornered

Birds go crazy
    In round cages

*my bird guru would seek out round bird cages listed for sale
and purchase them to destroy them

he told me that goldfish were similarly affected in round bowls

  makes me wonder...

Very thought provoking, just because the world is round doesn't mean they have to live in a round world.

Wow! I love this and I learned something! This is profound. Looking into the round bowl! This little ditty deserves POTD in my estimation! Faving!

You'll notice proper fish bowls have flat sides. Thank you so much dear! This one's a sleeper, not everybody reads so much in the little space between two lines ;) Hugs n' Love! xomo

Does square, rectangle, pentagon, et. al., make a difference over round? I would think any shape because no matter the shape of an enslaved one's habitat they are still, likewise, enslaved. Very thought provoking, necessarily so! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Round cages offer no definition of space. Cages have their uses, and proper pet care means meeting all of the needs of your pet. But let us not clip the wings off of a good metaphor ;) Hugs! xomo

Cages in general are bad. square cages are bad too. I have chickens and they free range and they are happy.

Parrot like birds are often persecuted in the wild. for some have a life span of only four to six years. in captivity it's around 90 years. Caging is debatable. I agree no bird or animal should be in a cage, But the fact remains. for some, there is no choice.

Yes I agree. I've kept parrots all my life. they had big cages. they were happy and content well done. pete.

I fostered a parrot for six months, but I have rule, nothing that pierces ear drums or skin ;) They are incredible. I keep doves. My dream bird would be a falcon...

John, you're leaning awfully close to the edge of an argument for flat earth.

Exactly! Think lost in the desert, snow blind in the arctic~ a lack of geographic markers. I have witnessed my own birds freak out just when you change their environment. xomo <3

I always thought round was the symbol of balance and peace - I guess not for everyone, though!

Amazing Maureen. I am stunned being captured by the simplicity of this poem; few words, but very enjoyably complex. This is like something a Zen master would make you silently repeat over and over to reach enlightenment. Thanks always Maureen.

I was going to be an ornathologist at university, but found out that I would most likely be doing lab work instead of being out in the field :(

Heh heh, I do love birds, and The Birds. Ya know, my muse probably is a bird. I got all bird crazy a few years ago, I think I had up to 17, down to three now.
