Heya Victor I’ve had some personal issues that kept me off the soup too, I also apologise for my absence of visits to your page, hopefully you’re on the mend, happy new year to you! Cheers David

With that crackpot in Nth Korea ramping up production of nuclear weapons (with the Kremlins help) the doomsday clock is nearly midnight. I hope we all live to see it out. Tom

He’s a real menace Tom, as indeed is Putin, I’d like to think China has both of them under their economic cosh, and keep both contained, other than that it’s the good old US military machine that keeps the world relatively safe, thanks so much for stopping by with wise words, cheers David

Smashing to see you back on the boards, David, and with a monoku or two that could only be you… of course, ‘new year for’ also rhymes with guffaw! A tremendously happy new year to you. Terry

Good Man Terry, your always one for a big hearty guffaw, I actually used one guffaw already in my first poem since I came back, (I shall find a way or make one) thanks so much for stopping by, all the best for the new year, cheers David

This discourse successfully contrasts the unpleasant consequences of drunk driving on New Year's Eve with the devastation caused by nuclear detonations, David. Last night's pyrotechnics were a sobering reminder of war's devastation. However, I wish you a prosperous 2024.

I hadn’t really considered the drunk driving aspect, but indeed it’s a very real issue on new years eve Lasaad, us humans are definitely drawn towards pyrotechnics and all things explosive, it’s a mad world, all the best for new year, cheers David

nuclear war vs. knew clear more! Wiseman. It's always on my mind...what I hate is a Mr. Doomsday. (not you) you are all about positive perspectives.

Ha! it’s perhaps a little dodgy on the rhyme front Anaya, I was going to enter it into Andrea’s new year contest, but then seen only one line was allowed in monoku form, yes I write about death sometimes (a lot) but always with the possibilities it brings, even if we’re eradicated by nuclear war! Cheers David
