A Mouse Tale
a mouse tale
the tundra mouse has her own story
she sits in the whispering dry grasses
beyond trees and mountains
in the place of permafrost
she makes her bed deep below
where the roots of the world
struggle to hold against the wind
tales of all the earth fly to her
on the north gales breath
murmurs wuther along many passages
in search of an ear to hear
a heart to hold them safe from times destruction
the mouse gathers these stories as seeds
buries them deep in waiting
