A Mothers Love

Glancing, and dancing
all around and around
full of energy
I do not know how to abound
you inside so small, and yet unseen
do flutter as a butterfly you do
My thoughts travel there
to what you'll be like
Who will you look like? act like?
What will you laugh at?
What will you love?
Oh only a butterfly flutter you are
and yet one day you'll be much more
Will you write a book?
Will you sing a song?
Or by chance would you rule a nation?
Oh my dear unborn child
so small you are,
so unaware of you is this world
yet to me you are my world
Even though we have not yet met
My heart swells and aches for you
One day I'll show you
how my much my love doth shine
You see my little butterfly
I am your mother
A mothers duty is to love to guide
a mothers duty is to protect and cherish
My dear little one
Do you know how much I do love thee?
