A Million Miles Away From Today

a million miles away from today
in this day with you winding down
king and queen on their thrones
but away from all responsibilities
laying back at sundown until our 
favorite show comes on 

a million miles away from today
in this day with you winding down
worker and workaholic actually staying
home and putting plans on hold for 
another time

a million miles away from today
in this day with you winding down
simple man and simply complex woman
paint dreamtowns dreamland iridescent
and stray away from the norm and the
ritual routines

a million miles away from today
in this day with you winding down
friends and lovers satisfy bodies on
'e' and preliminarily refuel and recharge
until our favorite show acts as our alarm clock

though we are still absolutely worn out
we cherish this day for we are fed, we
are sheltered, and we are positively fulfilled 

we will be departing from the excursion soon 
to do it all again in a few days....but for now
we are on the edge of our seats for this eagerly
awaited season finale....
