So haikuish. 5 5 5. Very few words needed to express a long lasting image. But may I pose a question Maureen? Is a title needed? You know I love your haiku, but traditionally they never had a title. As in this poem, the title becomes, at least to me, the first line of the poem. And since it has six syllables doesn't really fit. But then I suppose it's not meant too. Early morning pondering Maureen. You've got me thinking, and that can be a dangerous thing. jajaja. Still, another wonderful poem

I agree Maureen, but what amazes me is that your titles could be one line poems by themselves. From an admirer.

Haikuish a compliment, thank you! I do title like a first line, a habit of mine. For me, especially writing short form as I most often do, the title is 'half' the poem. It is the door, the sign on the door, the set up, a little poem can be more complex playing off the title. I don't worry bout syllables in free form, I go by feel. Cheers! :) xomo!

Great stuff, Maureen, a resigned melancholy expressed with an odd comfort, and all that in three lines. Excellent.
