A Mean Dose of Regular

Satisfied in no satisfactory way
I eat my dreaded shredded wheat.
Ugh.
An everyday food bringing me no joy.
A pattern I have fallen into at breakfast
Reminding me of mundane things
Bringing a mean dose of regular into my life.
While I dream of pancakes with syrup 
and whipped cream, slathered in bananas 
with a dollop of pudding.
Those days long gone,
When I could eat whatever
I wanted, and not suffer.

Rhona Mcferran August 1, 2019 at 10:48 PM I feel your comfort-food separation pain... my hubby used to lovingly call me "the human garbage disposal" (only half-jokingly)!! I miss those eat-anything-and-get-away-with-it days. It's just not worth the months of suffering now! P.S. When you are able to eat syrup again, I have a high-fiber pancake recipe that is actually pretty tasty. ;) Caren Krutsinger August 2, 2019 at 12:17 AM I love pancakes and would eat any kind of pancake right now and happy to do it.

Pancakes..mmmm With whipped cream on mine, I was on a weight loss diet at the time, and yes, I lost weight, as long as I avoided anything with sugar, Panagiota Caren Krutsinger August 2, 2019 at 12:17 AM Sugar and salt are my downfalls.
