A Lullaby To a Sleeping Volcano
Walking down on the winter snow;
A soft sound it does make,
Heard soft next to the waters of the lake…
I hear your sleepy breath so low.
Soft breezes rustle with dancing fir trees
Guarding the lake in single file,
They sing a lullaby, heard within a mile.
They sing you to sleep, to be calm, and at ease.
Silent and almost unheard is the lullaby
From the whispering trees the lapping lake brings.
And through the snow, the hills it rings,
Beneath the snow, I hear your sleepy sigh.
