A Lovers Torment Is Awaken

Walking into this cold, dark empty room, a realization storms my heart by surprise! The beauty of your eyes, your warm smile and soft touch, are no longer here! I painfully anguish, as my crying heart cries out for you! Your cream colored skin, your soft sweet smile. Your passion for me, it's gone, gone, gone! A numbness overtakes my heart, my mind, and my life, if there is a life without you! A constant reminder repeats itself in the depths of my wounded heart. My emotions are flaring, uncontrollably! My purpose is no more. It is finished, it is missing, lost in this pain, lost in this unforgiving torment! I'm suffocating, only your breath can save me. As I want to escape this relentless torture, of loving memories taken over by heart wrenching ones! I crawl in my bed, call it a painkiller if you will. There in my slumber I will escape you temporarily, and find A Solace Place, for a little while. Until I am overtaken by you again when I have Awaken!!! Michael Tor

Like others here, I went through a period of time where I preferred sleep to reality so I relate to your poem. BUT I disagree with the 2nd stanza - she could not take your heart's feelings with her because, if you really think about it, all the love in your heart, came from you, not her. If love does not work out, it is the 'universes' way of preparing you for the one who is truly perfect. Only the universe only delivers when it is ready. Good poem, Michael ... CayCay

Powerfully expressed, Michael. The loss of something or someone dear brings into effect repercussions that haunt the mind. Time heals, but the memory will never be completely erased! Moving on to a new relationship helps slow recovery. // paul

Thank you Paul. Yes it is a learning experience and a painful one at that. Life can deal you a tough learning experience sometimes. With each we hopefully learn and become a better person by them. I was young then and did not take my relationship to serious as I put my friends over her. Her mother was visiting from Minnesota and she wanted me to meet her and selfishly I went out with my friends. When I came home that night. She was gone. That's when my nightmare began. My friends are still there for me. Thanks again Paul for your observations. I have been working around the house been really busy. I have to start reading and writing again.

Thank you Cheri Richard had it right. It happened a while back and it was the darkest moment of my life. These painful words just scratch the surface. Time does heal, prayer and forgiveness helps. Thank you for your advice, support, and kind thoughts Cheri. The worst of it is over. Another solution to my situation is finding someone new to love my present wife.

Perhaps the only place you will be together is in the land of dreams. There was a time when my life was so painful that sleep seemed the only thing that I looked forward too. I hope you were writing about a distant memory.

Richard I'm sorry about the pain you had in your life. Pain doesn't discriminate. It affects all of us how we get over it and how it shapes our lives, is up to us.

Beautiful thought Richard. Yes I was. The level of your love is comparable to the pain you feel when there is a separation, The more you love someone the the more pain. It becomes worst when you realize you were the one who caused it. A learning experience that shapes who we are. This happened in the early 80's. It was like my heart was scarred for life. A piece of my heart died when she left. What makes this so incredible is that you as much as you try can not control the result of a breakup. Sleep and time take the pain away. Unfortunately for some it creeps up every once in a while. Anyone that's loved and lost someone and blamed themselves I think might be able to relate to this write. Thank you for your support. God bless you Richard.
