A Lovers' Tiff
The lady: ” I am getting tired of your jabbering---Wouldn’t it be nice to take you
on a cruise…wouldn’t be nice to live in a beach house.--I am tired
of your empty promises.”
The gentleman: “They are my fantasies. You are always starring in them. I don’t
make rash promises.”
The lady: “My mind is made up. I don’t want you near.”
The gentleman: “That has been my fear.”
“But you must know that you’ve always been my only dear”
The lady: “Please… that does not mean anything.”
The gentleman: “What we had is something. You mean everything.”
The lady: “You just need to comprehend“
The gentleman: “No I can no longer pretend. . .”
The lady: “Don’t sound like you now care.”
The gentleman: “Life without you I cannot bear. What we have is rare.”
The lady: “We have got to make things right.”
The gentleman: “I think about that every night. We have to stop this fight.”
The lady: “I need space. I want to straighten my life.”
The gentleman: “I want you to be my wife.”
The lady: Speechless
