A Love That Can Wait

Dreams of driving in the fast lane hair in the wind, best girl at my side a couple of kids rumbling in the back seat to the promised land we happily ride. Lately my praises of you don't seem to matter things once perfect now just don't seem right all the little things I do go unnoticed you even forgot to kiss me goodnight If you don't say anything how do I know if something's wrong we're heading the wrong way on a one way street been too many nights since I felt us make love words can't convey how much I care, my sweet I will be your rainbow when your storm has passed a comforting wind waiting at your ocean's shore I'll be your moon glow and your shining light I'll be here for you when you open that door No need for you to utter a single word For even in silence, your love can be heard

Tom, beautiful poem. If you write music, put this to music and you've got an incredible song.

Love is patient, love is kind... You've described a perfect love. Always there when needed but giving her a little space and time. Enjoyed your words. Someone is a lucky lady. Congrats on POTD. Well deserved. :) Janece

This is beautiful. I love the way you opened with that nostalgic car scene. And "I will be your rainbow when your storm has passed" - that is one of the sweetest lines I have read lately. Congrats on POTD :)

Oh the ebb and flow of relationships. It's hard to understand why someone goes quiet, sometimes it's not about the relationship, but something else entirely. I can be guilty of this, but then mood changes and things are fine with just a few words. Generally starting with I love you. Great poem of reassurance, Tim. Even when she feels far, those words are just what is needed. jan

This is so beautiful Tim..Yes,sometimes those we hold close to heart change for reasons one cant explain..or maybe give us the impression they changed, but they have their own burdens along the way....Your poem sounds hopeful though...and leaves a beautiful message of comfort towards the end..A fav!!!
