A Long Longing Leisure
Decades I waited for this perfect precious moment of leisure
To talk to my sole self and ask my true identity
Beneath the sea as the divers search for the hidden treasure
I appeal to my spirit, ‘reveal who I am, in life what’s my priority?’
Never before could I sit in such peace and serenity
At a dusky night, harmonizing with my long longing solitude
Gazing at the new bent moon and evening star
Amidst the illuminated sky, the cluster of stars in multitude.
Never could I make time to ask them if they knew me,
Whether I descend from heaven or from a star like thee,
O Heaven! Remove the veil of all thy mysteries
And reveal the truth for the solace of my soul;
Before could I see the shadow of my death
For I can smell the odor of the winter breeze
My days are numbered here, my grave is waiting for me.
