A Lonely Girl

I wandered the forest alone -
the cool my cloak,
with touch the sky trees my cathedral and haven.
and birds singing a symphony.
The forest was full of wonder and awe,
for a lonely girl with raven hair.
The streams rippled over time worn rocks-
and wildflowers grew,
and nature wrapped her arms around a sad girl.

I want to say "lovely poem" but that appears to be frowned upon. This form is new to me, I've only tried it once, for this contest and wasn't sure what I thought about it... upon reading this I have to say I like it. Good luck in the contest, you have won me over. xomo

Maureen, thank you for visiting my poem, well I will accept the lovely for I do not frown on compliments. Yes, the form was new to me also, but I like how the poem turned out and will definitely consider doing more poems in this form of poetry.
