The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

A Lone Oak Bears No Beauty

I remember the days we spent so fondly
‘Neath our lively oaks whose leaves kept falling
Though autumn gave them quiet beauty
A solidity through time beyond their weight
So light in hand yet heavy in heart
Each leaf a second less with you
And after too little time the leaves had piled
Their colors fading red to gray
That young oak so far from grown
Lost its swaying partner
Hence the leaves fell half in number
Shone half in color
Till the autumn winds had lost their luster
And that lone oak bore no beauty
No matter the colors of the leaves
If no other oak can whisper on the wind
Nor sway in awe
No wind should blow at all
Nor leaves should fall again
