A Life of Its Own
(For Lonely Poets)
We search for something-
anything-
with a life of its own.
We write,
write more
and more again.
In future dusts
and winds,
glare and green
will we meet our words,
alive, waiting,
never gone?
More likely
someone else
will hold them,
say them,
sing them.
See!
They live!
