A Life Lesson
As a young lady, I raced all around
From one goal to another I was bound
Thinking that time would cooperate
Give me many years to achieve my fate.
Wanted to climb high the ladder of life
Be successful at work, perhaps a wife
No time to slow down, I hurried ahead
Had so much to do before I was dead!
I’ve lived thru many brushes with death
Realized that life comes with every breath
I’ve learned to slow down, treasure every one
With no regrets when the last breath is done.
Tho old, and walk funny, I will endure
Upright and functional, you can be sure!
