A Life Interrupted

I don’t know what’s come over me
My life used to be so busy
Beds to make
Cakes to bake
And all my other friends to see.

Now all I want to do is sit
Write poetry with soul and wit
The laundry waits
And dirty plates
I’ve become hooked I will admit!

But today I have made a vow
Take back my other life somehow
Must clean the room
Put down the broom
I penned one again, Holy Cow!
