A Letter To You

I just wanted to sit down and write you a letter
I can’t change the past perhaps the future shall be better
I wanted to tell you that it wasn’t your fault
The truth is revealed with a grain of salt.

I wanted to tell you I shall always be there
But sometimes my words I shouldn’t share
I know that it’s hard yet I want to do right
I walk out from the shadows and into the light.

I feel so much love that it takes away life
I just want you happy and not feel the strife
The smile on your face means everything to me
When I hear your words I can finally see………..

I sit down and think how I lost myself
You can’t store you’re life on the back of the shelf
Because when you return everything’s lost
I’ve never been prepared to pay what it cost.

Happiness comes from within creating peace in your heart
The funny thing is you told me right from the start
But I’m seemingly getting it though it cost everything
I have to hold out for what the future will bring.

I’ve started to fix bridges that I left to neglect
They provided a route that I need to protect.
I find some peace and hope it’s not too late
I feel this throw away life and I the paper plate.

Thanks to me poems are letters, well thought out ones. What sense is there in communicating if you don't put any thought into it? Take care and thanks for reading:) Mark
