A Letter To Someone I Once Knew

There were differences between us, you and I, Differences in how we lived our lives. Lives that gave to each of us Values and perceptions And expectations, of less of this and more of that. Perhaps we, each of us, set unconscious standards For other men and women. Other men and women we might have loved or loathed, But still had influence In making us whoever it is we have become. There are differences, here and there, between us. Differences to be sometimes celebrated, And sometimes not. But always to be understood. Those conscious, and unconscious, standards we both set, Standards everybody sets, Did we ever apply them to ourselves?

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Looking inward is a skill not shared by many. 'Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.'
