A Letter From God
My dear child, you may not know me
But I do know you to a tee.
I know when you sit down and rise
Your ways are clear before my eyes.
I fashioned you in my image
Your existence is not a whim.
I knew you before you were born
and was present on your first morn.
You were chosen at creation
Your existence is no mistake
I chose the moment of your birth
and where you would live on the earth.
You are wonderfully complex
I even determined your sex.
Since your birth, I have been with you
through good times and the bad times too.
You have been told lies about me,
that I do not care about your needs
that I am angry and distant,
and that I am nonexistent.
Please know that none of this is true
I care completely about you.
I sent my Son from up above
to demonstrate to you, my love.
As your Father who lives above
I want to lavish you with love.
I am better than your earthly dad
whose actions at times made you sad.
My gifts to you are always good,
To cause you harm, I never would.
I have great plans for your future,
to spend eternity with you,
Come to me, My Child, I love you.
Let’s enjoy a feast, just for two.
When I think of you, my heart sings
I’m eager to show you great things.
Seek after me with all your heart
and never from my will depart
Please, let your heart delight in me
And I'll bless beyond degree.
When you are down, I’ll encourage you
When troubles come, I’ll comfort too
When your heart breaks, I will be there
to hold you close, because I care.
One day, I’ll wipe away all tears
and banish all cares, pain, and fears.
I am your Father, do not run,
I love you as I love my Son.
Through Jesus, my love for you shows
‘twas for you He endured sin’s throes.
He revealed that I am for you
I sent Him down, your heart to woo.
Receive my Son and receive me,
and bonded forever we’ll be.
None shall sever you from my love
You’ll have your own mansion above.
Come home, I’ve planned a feast for you
and all my other children too.
I’m your Dad, from me you were beguiled.
I’m asking, will you be my child?
