A Last Goodbye

A Last Goodbye In the hush of twilight’s fading light, Two laden Souls stood watching the descent of night. Their hearts weighed heavy with bittersweet sighs, As the hour had come to say their last goodbye. The Heart’s song faded, leaving no trace. The sound of sighs filled the space. Memories flooded like a gushing river, causing tears to fall, Both knew it was pointless to stall. Each aching for a gentle touch to soothe the pain, Dared to hope while knowing it was in vain. Remembering the warmth from times of old, Wishing for a cuddle as they stood, shivering in the cold. Emotions swirling like a turbulent sea, Words left unspoken, hanging in the air, Minds heavy with sadness and despair. In silence, they looked into the starlit night, thinking they’d soon be free. A final farewell and parting of ways, A chapter ends, but in their hearts, love forever stays. A message to send, for even in the depths of sorrows, love endures beyond the last goodbye. by Zyrool

Very engaging and passionate poetry, Zyrool. Knowing that it is time to say good-bye doesn't make it any easier. Love is eternal, that I believe. Thanks for sharing your thoughts through your poetry. A poet friend in Texas, Bill p.s. thanks for following my poetry, I'm following yours also.
