A Last Day of Spring.

Sweet springtime nymph beckons his name,
Bidding him forward with her winsome eyes,
Courting his essence with her silken vows,
Her intoxicating tendrils…
Filling his senses with life’s impassioned breath,

Murmuring in ears promising unblemished verve,
His veracity an overflowing of emerald rebirthing,
Warmed and renewed under soft golden skylines,
 Sweet hindrance mists…
Betraying the ardent concubine christened Death

Still amidst this splendor her shadow lays in wait,
Amidst hidden shelters hands slowly tearing away,
Heaving down the walls of self perceived immortality,
Mocking the ironies of life…
She ignites the funeral pyre with flames cast of springtime

Despite his obstinacy she understands,
For she is the herald of everything finite,
Approaching in the dusk of autumns last breath
Remaining eternally content…
Steadfast and faithful for all he ever loved…to the last
