as gloominess drops to the ground the lamplighter performs his rounds. Equipped with his ladders, wick trimmer matches, long pole and backup fuel positions the ladders on the post, He opens the lock and trims the wick and strikes a match to ignite the flame locking up the door he steps towards his next Sentinel. Through evening he steps his path merrily friendly to those he sees. His task will take him out in wind and rain the whole year round. curious children watch as each torch comes to life with a glow. In the morning the lamplighter is back at work smothering the flaring wick set alight the night before. As dusk falls once more the lamplighter lights the torches

An interesting design, with such intricate details that's almost an exact duplicate--I'm truly amazed, Lasaad! Unfailing enthusiasm prompts the keeper of the flame, a wonderful accomplishment, my friend! Another excellent achievement in an honorable placement in Brian's contest! Aloha, William

a fabulous and most creative shape poem. I'm sincerely in awe not just of your words but your ability to create the appropriate shape. My grandmother was born in 1900 and was familiar with lamplights, often telling me about them. How things had changed. One thing hasn't changed: poets whose words are like lamplighters lighting the torch each day, never trying of their appointed rounds. I must fave this one, dearest Sotto. Fascinating. Have a splendid Tuesday, Sara

Dear Sotto, to be honest i didnt know shape poems even exist really until i got on soup! Ive never seen them done so beautifully on any other place. Your shape poems are really inspiring me to try these and i have no idea how you do this but this is so very well done! And the words within those lines too are beautiful and fitting for the shape. I especially love “ He opens the lock and trims the wick and strikes a match to ignite the flame” so artistic you are! Another fave for me
