Notes About The Poem

7/12/2026 for Pyramid of Peace Poetry Contest sponsored by Ink Empress

A Kiss to Remember

My dear, kiss me when the sun sleeps
behind a black cloud that sags and weeps.
My lifeless body, your secret keeps,
beside this rocky shore.

Your cruelty - it knows no bound.
Throw me in the raging sound.
The newspapers will say I drowned.
You'll see me no more.

Your troubles are gone in this wet abyss,
but, in years ahead, you'll dearly miss
the love found only in this kiss
as waves lap on the shore.

Ah what a heart wrenching poem dear David, I especially felt "Your cruelty - it knows no bound. Throw me in the raging sound. The newspapers will say I drowned. You'll see me no more. " thats fierce and soul hitting! Youv expressed so well for the prompt, I felt the emotions. Pleasure reading ~ Sending you light always 💫 💫 🌙 🦅

Thanks, Ink! I'm laughing a little bit to myself, because you're always sending me light, and I noticed that lately, in my poems, for your contests, I'm sending you nothing but darkness 😄 I hope I send you some light in my next contest - you deserve it - but you never know 😀OK, I'm sending you light right now, just in case!
