A Kiss Remembered
Beyond fair reason do I think of you
In fallen grass, of gently flowered field
To find fleeting memories fade to blue
With the warmest thought, I silently yield
This memory trembles forever soft
In shadowy realms of a face once kissed
When whisked to midnight skies of stars aloft
With glowing afterglow, love reminisced
The shadowed door in candlelight so still
An empty chair, a fading silhouette
Of time forgot in love's unyielding will
When flames to ash will trace the two who met
A hand to brush the softest cheek to sooth
A kiss remembered, many years removed
