A Jailbird Cry
A Jailbird Cry”
Have you ever heard a jailbird cry
Its outer body is alive but its inner soul has died In several attempts it try to resuscitate its life
It tries and tries
But its heartbeat is faint and it no longer thrives to stay alive Agony is dressed all over its face
Life had been misplaced by its human mistakes
Mental notions of wishing to retrace those past dates
But its way to late
So the jailbird simmer in the heat of what has been placed on its plate Most just like to debate
But there is a few that can relate of how it got caged inside those gates There is no sweet sound only frowns crying out sorrow
Pushing through the calendar days in hopes of a brighter tomorrow Swallowing its grief to combat the undefeat of confinement Digesting all of its wrongs
Never crying the jailbird hums
Its liberating jailbird song
Have you ever heard a jailbird cry
It tries and tries but its soul just wont abide
