A Humorous Playful Poem of Passion

As veil of darkness falls, and stars caress the sky, this poet’s playful passion comes alive; within an ardent mind, as thoughts of love apply, a frisky, sultry scheme I must contrive. She reads her boring book, while propped up in her bed without a passing thought that I exist; I must now find a way, to get into her head so maybe she will finally get my gist. Perhaps I shed my clothes, and prance around the room, I’m certain this will surely catch her eye, but what if she should laugh, and cause my pride’s deplume; the darkness is my only alibi. With cell phone by her side…perhaps I send a text expressing clearly all my wants and needs. it’s solely up to her, whatever happens next we’ll see where naughty cyber message leads. Yet still she reads her book, and still I wonder why; I guess in boring book she’s buried deep; and so as darkness falls, and stars caress the sky, this poet’s playful passion goes to sleep. Thank for the great comment, Ralph, gave me a good laugh. Perhaps it's me that is boring and not the book. haha John

Does your wife read? any chance? if so, have you called her book boring out loud? I laughed because this clever poem summarizes so entertainingly what all my ex's mentioned during my avid reading days, 'why are you reading that boring book?' I, of course, knew 'boring' meant they felt left out but they didn't express that. I shall send each a copy of your well-written, grin-inducing poem! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

I’m sure my wife thinks my poetry is a bit boring too. She didn’t want me to post this poem, said it was too personal. I wrote the poem in jest but perhaps she felt a tinge of guilt. Thanks for your comments, CayCay, you gave me a little chuckle. John

Perhaps you are thinking too much, as playing hard to get, works- most of the time. :) Such a fun and playful poem my dear friend. Passionate in so many amazing ways. Your thoughts bring a smile. ~ Brandy

Every couple has had moments when one person was "in the mood" and the other wasn't; this poem is about one of those moments. We've all been there my dear friend. All my best. John
