A Historic Event

You can tie my eyes
You can tie my lips
Tie my hands and legs
Block my tiny ears
But how do you tie my Destiny
Block the blows to my tiny body
World of wonder, where are you
Where skies are dark with smoke
Food and water scarce
Malnutrition staring, in my face
Staring into deaths eyes
How do you tie my heart
Our little souls now in abyss
Angels on mighty wings
Creator of smiles, have a heart
Devils have a sense of humor too
Come uplift us, we are part
Of this beautiful human race.

Yemen is facing the largest humanitarian crisis
in the world
And children are being robbed of their futures.
Twelve million children are suffering, maimed
and killed in conflict.Tens of thousands more
could develop life threatening severe acute
malnutrition over the next six months
and under 5years of age a staggering 2.4 million.
Covid-19 has added to the suffering with
sanitation and clean water in short supply.
Civil War started on 27
January 2011, ongoing till now.

Carol very nicely done and plight of people in Yemen completely ignored by the world!! It is a sad reality we have to live with! United Nations is dead in the ground and mavericks like the current leaders of US and UK dictate and rule!! congrats on your wonderful win!!

Thanks Krish....yes a very sad state of affairs...and like you correctly pointed out...Politicians rule and destroy the very soul of man kind...and the children suffer and are hit the hardest.

Sad beyond words, CArol. A most worthy topic of discussion . I do not know much about these things or how to help. I know that in some countries where starvation is rampant, the govt. is blocking the civilians from getting the food being brought for them. So much greed and cruelty in this world. TFS.

Yes dear Andrea....it breaks my heart...such sad state of affairs in this wide world...we are so into our own little world we often forget the world at large....Prayers for the children is a contribution too...Take care.
