A Hint of Musk

Still, a hint of musk
remained behind on
 the shirt he last wore,
a faint reminder of skin
 pressed up against mine,
the essence of sweat &
 tears that lingers a lifetime

Hi Paloma; this is my kind of poem...short and suggestive. Still working on those tears, though...// paul

So, pressing my nose in the slowly fading smell of him, the lingering last whiffs of him on my pillow, and the tears that remain, and dry.... in a while. You made me cry there.

This really puts the reader right there with feelings and senses. Well done!

So beautifully sad. This really grabs at my heart. It could be a love that has left or even more sad, one that has passed on. Either way, the message, the thought and the scene this creates is gorgeous.

Now this is sad, Paloma. The sense of smell provides such a clear memory. Makes me think of my dad.
