Purple, the color of royalty
Breathlessly risking every dream,
Awake, yet sleeping – just napping
Through the glowing grace –
History revealing the promise
Will He remember me, the silent thought,
The joy and hope, the broken heart?
Will He see me for the girl I was
Or for the woman I have become?
Will He see my heart and soul,
Know me in ways I can never know
Me, the light glowing in the glistening
Storybook moments, praising
His Son, the ache that releases me
From the darkness, the doubt
Despair that erases the laughter,
Hastens to color me in hues of grief,
Songs and beliefs, bleeding…
Will He see the me that screams out
To the stars and moon,
To the sunrise, the dawn who reminds
Me that there are reasons for all the insanity,
The worries and struggles, the heart
That breaks in ways that only He can darn,
Sewing with stitches of hope and faith,
Repairing the feelings with blessedness –
His comforting spirit lifts me from the doubt
Into the light that blinds the disbelief,
Carries the heart to new heights, fresh grace,
Reminding the memory to listen
Beyond the grip of reason,
There is appreciation, thanksgiving
Come to life in the promises…
He fixed me, restored my spirit
Mended my heart so that I now have
A heart fit for a king,
The King of Kings, the royalty
Who anoints my heart with gentlest
Belief – through grace
He brings me His Holy Spirit,
The Comfort who abides in me,
Heartening, uplifting, supporting
So that this heart is forever grateful
For the One who made a way for her!
