A Haven of Dreams
A Haven of Dreams
I long to go and see where time stands still,
Where breezes blow and branches sway.
I see it now beyond that distant hill,
It beckons me and shows the way.
As I am drawn beneath its potent spell,
‘T is sweet serenity I yearn.
In tender moments my emotions swell,
I count the days till you return.
Our haven nestles in a leafy glade,
A sanctuary it’s now become.
And there at peace we’d sit in gentle shade,
Hear songbirds trill while bees would hum.
How sweet this place that sets my heart aflame,
That you will come, my constant thought.
Without you here it does not feel the same.
Incurably, my heart is caught.
And if this dream of mine should ever die,
It’s there I’ll go to rest awhile.
The sunlight that adorns a cloudless sky,
A mere reflection of your smile.
