a spider the size of a small cat came crawling round the curbside bend wondering what he could eat worms ? snails ? frogs? lizards ? bats? perhaps even cat Trick or treat mate your squashed, Bye !

Yep--not always wise to announce one's presence. I remember shortly after coming to Arizona, having gotten a job as Bar-back in a western bar out in the desert. Getting some wine out of an outdoor storeroom, I spied a huge black striped spider on the floor, larger than my hand. I thought, what fool put a rubber spider on the floor. Then it moved. Started walking. Great Halloween poem. Thank you for sharing.
