A Gun At Her Head

It was 7.45am and very little was said
This was the day forever she would dread
Please let me go to the man she pled
But he chose to aim the gun at her head
Her life flashed before her was she already dead?
Was she just dreaming and about to awake?
This was the day forever she would dread
Fearing for her life what would he take?

The man ran off but to where no one saw
The gun at her head she couldn't ignore
Knowing he'd gone she arose from the floor
Her whole body trembling she looked to the door
Wanting for a cigarette she left the store
Inhaling where she stood the shaking wouldn't stop
The gun at her head she couldn't ignore
Getting her a seat they realised she was in shock

With the ordeal now over recovery can begin

Thank you for your comments and the win. I just want to add some background to this poem. One month ago I was the woman who had the gun held to her head. This poem was so easy for me to write as it just flowed out, but also very hard for me to write as I still have images of that day embedded in my mind.
