Where have all the moments gone, As fresh as a summer breeze! That kissed newborn, fresh, emerald leavees on Chicago’s trees. Whatever became of my expansive, Blond desk, that smelled of fresh wood? Or, my white and black saddle shoes? I’d wear them, ah, if only I could! What about all my fun and convivial high School fun, and class of friends? I imagine them all, now grandmas on Family-blessed, weekends! What great satisfaction, to know that this, My beautiful, bright, and so blessed progeny, Will carry me with then in spirit and Humble works, rest with them, so poetically! 4/26/2024

Paige, I remember my Mom, Dad, aunts uncles! Grandparents, no! I was young when they passed away. My family was very largse meaning aunts, cousins…each weekend was like Christmas Eve. My uncle from Italy, did all the cooking.. he also made homemade wine. And all,the musicians in my family, were there and always music.. that’s why I rhyme so much because my life was always music and a lot of songs with rhyme. I know these days rhyme is almost a crime. Boy that’s really stupid. Hugs, Pangie xx00

I enjoyed the nostalgic and reminiscent quality of your poem. I also admire the fluidity of your lines and your rhyme scheme. (You helped me remember my black & white saddle oxford shoes). I felt the joy you have with your family...a delightful read. Have a great evening, hugs, Sara

Sara, isnt it a pleasure to recall the saddle shoe days! Did you ever own a poodle skirt! Mine was stunning because my Mom had unique taste in clothing. I wish I still had that))) We do have her wedding dress(1936). She was unbelievably pretty and thin, Glad you liked the flow and rhyme scheme. I always am grateful to the Lord…that I can write one poem. And I celebrate that. It may not be poem of or day or anything like that. I am humble enough ….to realize I am not a.top poet here, I am working on an autobiography too! It might never get done..It’s just nice to put your thoughts together and realize how far you have come in life. When you’re older, it keeps your memory going, which is important.. bless you and Bill! Hugs, Pangie xx

Dear Pangie, this is so beautifully written as you reminisce on past, happy days. The first stanza is so stunning. Great rhyme and flow throughout. I love the striking, delicate picture too that you have chosen. The last stanza is heartfelt and profound. You will always be carried on the wings of all those that love you dear Pangie. Your beautiful soul will fly forever. I loved this. Such a joy to read. Luv and blessings to you for a happy weekend xx

Dear Chrstine, I honor and respect a poet like you because comments say someting, jet comments indicate nothing. They are like empty shells on a beach. All you here is an echo. Longer comments take time, but really help me along the way. I only speak for me! I am not popular here…lol! Or I dont see it that way. I am super critical of my poetry, i dont see the beauty, others do. The fact only person who I compete with here is me_)) thank you again for being specific and aiding me in growing to be better Pangie xx

Hello Panagikota, yes the saddle shoes are a classic style. I wear running shoes around the house for support for my feet. Better than slippers. Neither have i seen my old school friends. Hugs /Darlene/ xxx

Darlene, who cares if they arre in style? Amazon might be selling them. Saddle shoes are a classic style. Most humans are addicted to running shoes since aound 1970. Decades of looking at them. Enough! Kids dont even know what a real shoe is anymore. They serve a good pupse but i wear shoes and running shoes, good you have nnieces and nephews, wow.you are an aunt and a great aunt, great! Havent seen old school friends for decades. You can check on line.tY 4 reading me,..my cat friend.)))Pangie. Xx

Oh how sweetly beautiful and nostalgic, dear Pangie. The years have a way of rushing by. Surrounded by high school friends, then graduation comes and we must part ways. Your loving poem speaks eloquently of this and of the joy of family. A FAV. I'm misty eyed, good friend. God's bountiful blessings. xoxx
