A Good Day To Cry

President Donald J. Trump is a grifter, a compulsive liar, a convicted fraudster and an adjudicated rapist, skilled at the deceptive art of politics. He says he is going to build a wall along the southern border of the United States to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. But it's a cruel construct, a sham and a devastating blow for asylum seekers scared, alone, and confused, who risk everything for freedom. It is such a heartbreak to see the tear-filled eyes of a child ripped from its mother's arms; as she tries to escape persecution, crossing the border anyway she can. What I find most disturbing is that there's so little empathy and compassion in this so-called Christian Nation. And though I remain hopeful for change: I fear the future will be even worse, for bigotry is on the rise. It feels like a good day to cry.
