A Gift of Love

I bought my love a white chocolate rose Filled with honey and strawberry cream I placed it in the car to get a card It melted in a chocolate stream I bought a plant of beautiful bloom Pink and red and white But placed it in the hallway Too drafty and so it died I bought my love a golden heart With citrine and sapphires A splendid work of art Glittering strung with wires But when I placed it on his neck The chain was much too small The wire snapped the catch broke And the stones and heart did fall And now I simply laughed and cried And hugged my love so dear Too late to get another gift I hugged and loved him as I shed a tear.

I was getting stressed from frustration on your behalf thou I realized you didn't want me, the reader, to do so - stress must be coming from me. This is lighthearted and playful with a moral at the end, it isn't the things, it is the intangible, the love. I love the delivery. Now, let me do something about my stress! Enjoyed this ... CayCay

Funny. Sorry. Sometimes I think when you think of pleasing other people you don’t always think of everything. I honestly get gifts for people and give them to them ASAP in fear of forgetting where I put them, or one of my parrots getting it or I have even thrown things out by mistake. Thank you
