A Gallivanting Romeo

A gallivanting Romeo, he rode into my world, so handsome and unique. Finesse with a seductive gaze he showed! The few times that I saw him, he would seek a rendezvous with me. I had a ring on my left finger, and I do not stray from my commitments. Yet my heart would sing to see his gaze! For strength I had to pray. Precarious was my position. He tried hard to make me acquiesce, but I would not give in - though dreams of ecstasy assailed me! Then I learned about his lie. . . I called him on it. Nonchalant he grew. There should have been a ring on HIS hand too! May 10, 2018 for Emile Pinet's New Poems (8 difficult words) Contest The eight words are these: ecstasy, rendezvous, unique, finesse, precarious, gallivanting, nonchalant, acquiesce

While my horse was gallantly gallivanting, Soon out of breath, he had been panting, And did die; Don't know why; Damp daisies on grave will be planting.

This is a great poem to show that not all is as it seems. That a person who is unfaithful will always be that way. I praise the good person for not giving in and destroying their life. It was a really nice Read.
