A Foretaste of the Life To Come
In a garden of flowers he did repose
A place of solace where he often meditate
His glorious presence he often did dedicate
He sank to his knees in worship and adoration
He lays there, lost in His Awesomely Inspiring Presence
As spiritual songs marched up the throne of the Omnipresence
He stood in awe, as he watched cautiously
A green serpent gazed at him with its eyes
Slowly creeping on the branches, not far-off it spies
He was scared! This is strange! What a shock!
While his lip sings, the serpent appears
As soon as he ceases, unto the trees the creature disappears
Oftentimes it’ll draw close and stare at him
He thought of striking the creature to death
And a voice said, “Catch your breath”
This creature that wears a green dress
Being subject to decay and pain
Also looks forward with hope to reign
It is obvious and abundantly clear
Not only this creature, but the whole of creation
For creation groans being subjected to corruption
And fear, enslavement and physical frailty
Will be redeemed at the consummation of our glory
The Holy Spirit is granted as a foretaste of that eternal story
For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. [Romans 8:19,22]
