A Fervor For Travelling

The thought of traveling is inspiring to me. So many amazing countries I've read about. Places I've dreamed of visiting and long to see by plane, rail, or car. Whatever my chosen route. Excitement begins when my decision is made as to where I'll go, close to home or far away. Walking on a beach and watching the sunlight fade. Perhaps this winter, riding in a one horse sleigh. Planning the journey is always part of the fun. Whether I'll be daytripping in Scotland's heather or the Alps, my travelogue will be finely spun. When it's time to get away, I have no tether. I'll pack a bag on an impulse or merest whim. Destination not always chosen in advance. I've not thrown a dart at a map as a prelim, but wherever it lands, I'd find reason to dance.

I am not quite brave enough to throw a dart at a map and then go, but I love your sense of adventure, and your uplifting last line, 'find a reason to dance,' makes me want to jump on a plane!

I loved traveling with you, Lin. I used to love to travel, but after my injury last year and surgery, I may not be able to travel any distance anymore...will have to wait and see. I love Germany, Switzerland, the Alps...they're the countries of my descendants. I'm enamored with castles. Anyway, the rhyme scheme flowed as well. Happy travels, hugs, Sara

Thanks, Sara. I'm sure we'd have lots of fun travelling together, Sara. I've been many places, but one day I'll fulfill my dream of going to Scotland and stay in a castle. Wanna come with?

Do it while you can Lin, I'm looking forward to doing more travelling next year and being able to walk unaided. Shame my trusty stick won't be coming, cars used to stop on main roads in Greece to let me cross the road. I felt like royalty lol. Tom

Nice to travel when you are healthy, Travelling with friends is always fu, Don't wait till retirement, do it as soo as possible.

I have to give you credit for the impetus of something I'm passionate about, Jeff. I had no clue what I could write about with a passion that would be pg for this contest. Your mention of Amsterdam was what I chose, so thank you. I DO love traveling. Some day I hope to visit those places on my list. Thanks for your continued following. Antarctica is not on that list... if you really live there. ;-)
