A feline's evening watch 01-07-26

I'm alone.

The sea calls to me,
diamond spears
striking stone terraces,
an ominous clash
like thundering war drums.
The air hums with electricity,
my hair bristling
inside the storm.

The ground beneath melts away,
rocks tumbling into the sea below.
Skidding, sliding,
I lock eyes with
the ocean spray,
its roar thick with contempt
and the hunger to devour all.

Why does the neighbour have to own a damn dog?
