A Fansy Angel

I found along the road
Yet being absorbed with graceful dews those
Footsteps rebounding ere spring
An unseen vision; perhaps, for such delight
That is trying to tell me who has come first before you.

I know it couldn’t be the moonlight or nightingale
Nor the plum-blossoms cloud carried beauties melting
In cherry-flower; neither I seek alone an answer
By the falling white tree because this too is gone
But I should fall tonight in front of those blissful hidden brown eyes
This instant be suspended somewhere above version I hold.

This appear – this life,
A way to feel and to think, that tonight
She shall return, and says: “I am having it, my love
A lovely night with love beyond unseen
Dawn once more what I missed from the last spring tonight!”
