A Duststorm

the hot and dry westerlies
with backing of the fiery sun
get confronted by the moist easterlies
backed up by force of nimbus clouds
naturally, a storm is bound to occur
as two opposing forces try to dominate
each other fiercely with all their might
in the process of this duel a whirlwind and
dust and all it can lift gets raised to the sky
weak branches and old leaves of fragile trees
get blown away helter skelter
the strong branches and green leaves
merrily flutter in anticipation of rain
feeling the joy of having persevered
through tough hot conditions and
having believed in their strong roots
waiting eagerly to soak in the ensuing rain
they don’t have to wait for long
the easterlies prevail in the duel.
