A Downward Slide

Birth to death is a downward slide Notice the signs every day My luscious hair is thinning rapidly Muscles are starting to decay Eyesight's caused me to wear by-focals My back's in perpetual pain Haven't had to use one of those walkers Don't have use of my brain On the bright side still alive and kicking Though high as I once did Keep exercising and eating sensibly Gonna try to stop my skid Got a few years left in this body Making best of the time I've left Spreading cheer with my silly old rhymes Till my bod's laid to rest
Phew!

Our minds stay young, a shame that our bodies have other ideas lol. Went for a long walk today to test out my legs after my op. So far no problems and hopefully they'll be good for a few more years. Hang in there Jack Tom

I can sooo relate to the messages within your poem--thinning, hair, back pain, weak bladder. lost heighth...the list seems endless at times. But I do as you do...I exercise every day, eat sensibly, keep my attitude up, serve others with kindness and relish each day. I appreciate your mindful poem this morning. You brightened my day. Have a great one, dear Jack, Sara
