A Dog and Cat

A dog and cat
are not great pals, but I have seen
a dog and cat,
friends on the street. Imagine that!
These strays share food in times so lean.
How sweet when nothing comes between
a dog and cat!

Andrea Such a cute and sweet write. Why can't people be like this doggie and kittie. Learning to share and help each other. Nicely done. Thanks for the great comment on my Cherished Love poem Hugs

Love your poem. Imagine that! Reminds me of the nursery rhyme. "There was an old lady that swallowed a cat / imagine that! she swallow a cat. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid. it's a long one. it starts out "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly............. and it ends ".........There was an old lady who swallowed a horse / she's dead of course."

You would be surprised at the different animals who make friends with a natural enemy. If it were me I'd be feeding the two of them. Great job here. God Bless, JB

How true, a dog and a cat, a wonderful metaphor for people who have many differences too, if they can get along, "imagine that!" :) An excellent poem, congrats on your win.

Love it. This poem is ripe with sharing - a good message. I grew up in Denver, where the poem takes place. Actually, I guess, I've never really left home. It was that good. Love, daver

This form of Rondeau seems to be quite popular, and you have used it well here. Good luck in the contest. Love, Robert.

How strange - and how sweet! Our Paddy was friends with a cat when he was a puppy, but then one day he just started growling at it.

I read deep into this one Andrea...and humanitarianly speaking (if that's a word) people should take a lesson from the Cats N' Dogs! Ya' think? seven
