A Do Dah Day Arrives

A contextual gray
dulls the horizon’s lure,
blending the sharper hues,
softening the day’s rush
like warm cotton batting
awaiting a fine rump.

Drizzle manifests,
depressing, maudlin
lackluster, shrouding
the zip in the day,
Uncle Remus frowns.

Ole Br’er Rabbit
would not come out!
The blue birds hide
waiting for sun.

Ole Sol peeks.
Remus smiles.
Br’er hops in.

Blue birds
arrive

Oh, I had a book as a little girl about brier rabbit... was it Disney? I am so tired, I'm loopy. Wrote that po! The clutter bug speaks! As for this, hope it does well in the contest. Such a cool blend! Hugs, Cyndi :-)
