Here is a little ditty To a poet from the City She writes of common things Yet makes the routine sing Her style is perfect rhyme Its beat is mighty fine A chronicler of daily events She walks the dog, pays the rent The subjects may be ordinary But her poetry is extraordinary A tower of poetic power She is, of course, Ilene Bauer Keep writing, Ilene. Oh, I am so happy that you like it. They (those guys with the long beards and black hats, you know) that you should only tell 1/2 of a person's praise to his/her face. So, now you know the half of it. The rest... you can just imagine how wonderful that is. Best wishes, always, gw

Absolutely perfect tribute GW!!! Ilene has a remarkable gift observing everyday life, things other people take for granted. she is one of my fave poets and even when my time is limited especially of late, I always try and read her wonderful words. She is one poet I would buy,if she ever put her poems into a book it would be a best seller!:-) adding this gem to my faves:-) hugs Jan xx
