A Distressed Man

Riding a local train
through the Bangladeshi scorching heat
an old man told me
how his houses were submerged
into the Bay of Bengal at night.

translated to Czech language the poem looks like this: Cestou osobním vlakem ve spalujícím žáru Bangladéše mi jakýsi starý muž vyprável, jak jeho domy klesají pod hladinu v Bengálském zálivu za noci. --Md Šahadat Hossain (2017)

I really like this poem. Could I translate it to my native language and use it as a "motto" for a chapter in a book (fiction, adventure) I am writing? It would be like a quotation, with the author of the poem written there.
